On Saturday, September 24th, 2022, Chef Andy will be competing in the Miami 125 ultramarathon.
The Miami 125 is a 125-mile unsupported foot race through Miami’s hottest neighborhoods - Wynwood, Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, Calle Ocho, Coconut Grove, Brickell, and more. The course map for this race will not be available for runners beforehand and ZERO aid stations.
Mileage: 125 miles
Andy will be navigating his way throughout the city, following directional cards with step-by-step directions to each checkpoint to receive the next batch of directions. Part of this race's uniqueness is that it is not only a huge endurance effort in terms of mileage but a mental and navigational test as well.
Last year (2021) there were 0 finishers. Andy is aiming to become to first to finish this race.
A few of Andy's words leading up to this race - "I cannot wait for this race. When I saw that they offered an upgrade to 125 miles rather than 100 I couldn't help but sign up. Be uncommon amongst uncommon and push your body to the limit."
This will be Andy's third 100-mile race in 2022. Cut-off time: 40 hours.
