Jess Sigsworth is an English footballer who plays as a forward for FA WSL club Manchester United, previously playing for Notts County and Doncaster Belles, as well as representing England at numerous youth levels. Starting her football career at a boys team in Doncaster, it wasn’t long before Doncaster Rovers Belles spotted her potential and signed Jess up to a female only playing team, where they were training to eventually play in the senior women’s divisions, once they came of age, as opposed to just a weekend league for a hobby.
Jess then endured a stint at Notts County, where you spent 10 months, but failed to make an impact which, not making a single appearance for the first team. In November 2015, Sigsworth re-signed with hometown team Doncaster Rovers Belles ahead of the 2016 season. On 20 March 2016, she scored her first goal, in her first appearance since returning to the club in a 4–1 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Women's Cup, which saw her rewarded with a full-time contract in May 2016. Jess finished top scorer for the league in the 2017-18 season, netting 16 times in 18 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit, as well as celebrating the league title for hometown club. After the season ended, Jess announced she was signing for Manchester United as part of their inaugural squad to participate in the second tier of English women’s football, which once again saw her win the golden boot and help her team to finish top of the table and secure promotion to the Women’s Super League.
